About Winery: Blessed by the Sacramento River Delta in Northern California, the cooling waterways and rich farmland make the picturesque setting of Heringer Estates Vineyards and Winery. Through seven generations the family has farmed various row crops, but in the 1970s the Heringer family planted their first vineyard. That first planting of wine grapes was the beginning of a changing agriculture market in California and the start of the Clarksburg Wine Country that we love today. Weighted drawbridges and swing bridges give access to the lush vineyards nestled among family farms that have been settled for generations.

Aggie Connection: Stephen graduated from UC Davis in 1998, College of Engineering, Civil Engineering and Army ROTC. After 12 years in the military as a helicopter pilot and officer, it was a life-long love of the land and a desire for new challenges that brought Stephen Heringer back to the family ranch. Wearing many hats in the family business, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations in the vineyard and winery and understands that each part of the business is critical to creating a beautiful glass of wine.
