UC Davis Health invites you to attend this lecture from the Grand Rounds speaker series. This series aims to provide a safe forum where perspectives can be expressed, fostering collective reflection.

Heightened tensions from the conflict in the Middle East have led to an increase in hate crimes and discriminatory incidents on campuses nationwide. The current political climate has also contributed to the silencing of important discourse, which has profoundly affected our faculty, staff, and students.

Featured Speaker: Derek Penslar

Derek Penslar is the William Lee Frost Professor of Jewish History and the Director of Harvard University’s Center for Jewish Studies. He studies modern Jewish history through a comparative and transnational lens. Professor Penslar examines the intersections of Jewish history with broader themes such as modern nationalism, capitalism, and colonialism, providing a unique and global perspective on the subject
