WELCOME, NEW AGGIES! These celebratory and casual gatherings bring together incoming parents, students and family members from similar regions to meet each other and learn more about their upcoming UC Davis experience. New Aggie Welcomes are social events hosted by the Aggie Parent & Family Association in partnership with our regional alumni networks.

Washington: Seattle
Saturday, July 18, 2026 @ Big Finn Hill Park, Kirkland, WA; Picnic Shelter (Address: 12896, 12908 72nd Ave NE, Kirkland, WA). Big Finn Hill Park is located between Kenmore and Kirkland. There are two park entrances off of NE 138th St at Juanita Drive NE and at 84th Ave NE. The picnic shelter can be found near the playground. Parking is free.
10am-11:30am; program starts 10:30am
Bay Area: East Bay
Wednesday, August 5, 2026 @ Lake Chabot Regional Park; Elderberry Picnic Area. (Address: 17600 Lake Chabot Rd, Castro Valley, CA 94546). This event is free to attend however a $5 parking fee per vehicle is required by East Bay Regional Parks if you choose to park at the site. If you don't mind a short walk, you can park on the road for free. The Elderberry Picnic Area is located near the end of the parking lot, closest to the marina (see pdf).

Northern California: Davis
Saturday, August 8, 2026 @ Walter A. Buehler Alumni Center (Address: 530 Alumni Ln, Davis, CA 95616; pdf link to map). The Walter A. Buehler Alumni Center is located off the Vanderhoef Quad near the Mondavi Center and Welcome Center. We recommend parking in the Gateway Structure which is just across Old Davis Road. Parking is free on campus on weekends.
Make a day of it! Learn about more things to do while you're in Davis. Plan some time to go on a self-guided tour!
All Aggies who are interested in making the trip to campus are welcome!

Can't make it to the other welcomes but still want to join in the fun? We host a virtual new family welcome for any new Aggie families over Zoom. This is a GREAT space for international and out of state families to connect however all are welcome. Register to receive the Zoom link!
Bay Area: South Bay
Thursday, August 13, 2026 @ Vasona Lake Park - Los Gatos, CA; Circle Picnic Area. (Address: 333 Blossom Hill Rd, Los Gatos, CA 95032). This event is free to attend however a $6 parking fee per vehicle is required by Santa Clara County Parks. The Circle Picnic Area is located next to the Youth Science Institute off Garden Hill Drive (see pdf). To access the park, please use the main entrance at Blossom Hill Road and Roberts Road.

Southern California: Los Angeles
Sunday, August 16, 2026 @ Brookside Park - Pasadena, CA; Picnic Area C (Address: 360 N Arroyo Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91103). Brookside Park is Pasadena’s largest fully maintained park facility located just south of the Rose Bowl Stadium. Extensive parking facilities are available off Arroyo Boulevard. Picnic Area C is located next to the Tennis courts (see pdf).

Southern California: Orange County
Sunday, August 16, 2026 @ Mile Square Regional Park - Fountain Valley, CA; Picnic Area 1 (Address: 16801 Euclid St, Fountain Valley, CA 92708). Picnic Area #1 in Mile Square Regional Park is part of a 607‑acre urban oasis featuring lakes, sports fields, playgrounds, paddle‑boat rentals, and more. To most easily access Picnic Area #1, use the park entrance on Euclid Street, then head to parking lot PB (see pdf). Fees are $5 per vehicle.

Southern California: San Diego
Saturday, Sept 5, 2026 @ NTC Park, Picnic Area I (Address: 2455 Cushing Rd, San Diego 92106). NTC Park is located in Liberty Station in Point Loma. There is ample free parking at the park.
