UC Davis CLAA and the Cross Cultural Center invite all alumni, friends and family to attend a pre-show reception ahead of this year's annual Danzantes del Alma Annual Showcase! Join us as we reminisce on shared memories of past performances and our time at UC Davis. Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet some of the performers and the Cross Cultural Center team before attending the show at the Mondavi Center. Light refreshments will be available with agua fresca!

Danzantes del Alma de UC Davis, a holistic retention program founded in 1977, continues to be a program that fosters a connection to Mexican culture through music and dance. Housed under the Cross Cultural Center, DDA supports student leadership, identity exploration, and cultural and community advocacy. For many of our students, Danzantes del Alma is a “home away from home”, and a space where they can connect with their culture while getting support from the community that is built throughout the year.
With much excitement, we return to the Mondavi Center for the 4th year in a row, presenting the regions of Baja California, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Tabasco, and Zacatecas. This year we’d like to invite you to celebrate with us our 46th Annual Showcase, “México, Siempre en Mi Corazón”. Our show is an homage to everyone that came before us; to those who passed down their traditions and their love for our heritage. It is with this sentiment that we strive to showcase our love for the moments with our community that have impacted and motivated us to fight for a future where our traditions and our stories are kept alive.

Danzantes del Alma de UC Davis, un programa de retención holística fundado en 1977, sigue siendo un programa que crea una conexión con la cultura mexicana a través de la música y la danza. Este programa está bajo la supervisión del Cross Cultural Center, donde apoya el liderazgo estudiantil, la exploración de la identidad, y la defensa cultural y comunitaria. Para muchos de nuestres* estudiantes, Danzantes del Alma es un “segundo hogar” donde pueden celebrar su cultura mientras reciben el apoyo de la comunidad que se desarrolla a través del año.
Estames emocionades de regresar al Mondavi Center por cuarto año consecutivo, esta vez presentando las regiones de Baja California, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Tabasco, y Zacatecas. Nos gustaría invitarles a celebrar con nosotres nuestra 46.a presentación anual, “México, Siempre en Mi Corazón”. Nuestra presentación es un homenaje a todes los que vinieron antes que nosotres, inculcandonos las tradiciones y el amor por nuestra herencia mexicana. Para nosotres, es una oportunidad para demostrar nuestro amor por los momentos con nuestra comunidad que nos han moldeado y que nos motivan a luchar por un futuro en el que nuestres tradiciones sigan adelante y podames mantener nuestres historias vivas.
